Whilst I am not an authority on planing I hope this will provide any rider with a great starting point.
- If heading out near Kin Kin there is minimal to no town water, there are shops yet they may not always be open when you need them.
- After 9am the UV rating is generally high, so slip, slop, slap as best you can.
- Even heading out at 4am (during the summer months) it can ge t hot, save your arse and use chamois cream.
- Take food, and a good electrolyte drink. From years pedalling around various rural areas having a gel in your back pocket can be the best thing when you have hit the wall (Bonked) and still have 20km to go to get to the next cafe. Even if you are not a fan they provide a quick hit and a sustained hit. With an electrolyte drink I personally steer clear of any of the pre packaged sports drinks. My long time favourite has been Endura, to me an ok flavour though great for stopping my cramps and keeping me hydrated. In the past week I have been riding with Skratch Labs electrolyte and finding the flavour is nice and overall it is keeping me hydrated.
